Valerie Stafford, MS, is the Director of Communications and Community Education at United General Hospital. She’s also a faculty member at Skagit Valley College, teaching wellness classes and physical education classes for the college since 1991. Valerie owns the historic Concrete Theatre with her husband, Fred West, and she is a certified fitness instructor who teaches group exercise classes for her own business, Encore Fitness. Valerie was selected as the 2011 Business and Professional Woman of the Year by  the Skagit Women's Network and Alliance (SWAN). Valerie earned her BA at Western Washington University in Bellingham and her Master of Science degree from Capella University in Minnesota. She has a special interest in helping people of all ages and abilities reach their full potential through exercise, nutrition, stress management and mindful activities.
